I chose family
I left my work as a physician and moved home to care for my father.
About Doug Kalunian
I'm a retired board-certified geriatric and adult psychiatrist who learned AI at 65. Today, I help people use it to explore personal interests, shape practical ideas, and build without becoming tech experts.

In 2017, I left medicine in Seattle and returned to Los Angeles to care for my 94-year-old father. It was the right decision, but it also meant leaving my income behind and figuring out what came next.
After one business attempt was derailed by the pandemic, I began learning how online businesses work. When AI became publicly available in late 2022, I went all in. It gave me a practical way to research, organize, create, and move ideas forward.
This is not about turning therapy into a product. It is about giving another part of you room to grow.
How I Got Here
I left my work as a physician and moved home to care for my father.
I became an early adopter and learned how to use AI for business creation and marketing.
I guide therapists and counselors 50+ as they explore passions outside their clinical role.
You do not need to walk away from your practice, become a tech expert, or build another full-time job. You need an idea that matters to you, clear boundaries, and a lighter way to begin.
How I Can Help
Whether you are curious, already exploring an idea, or ready to create your first product, there is a practical next step.
Resources, prompts, guidance, and direct access to ask questions as you explore.
A beginner-friendly introduction to AI and passion-based side business ideas.
A practical guide to finding your idea, shaping it, and taking the first steps.
AI can give you a useful starting point for research, planning, and draft content. Your judgment, edits, and personal perspective are what make the work yours. Building a business still takes time and consistent action, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.
